Thanking Swami Radhananda

One of the many things I loved about Swami Radhananda was the absolute confidence she had in the power of the teachings. This allowed her to make the learning experience very spacious, giving one question and leaving participants to go off on their own to find their own answers. The depth of wisdom in her approach was inspiring. She knew how to get out of the way and allow the Light to enter, for each person, in their own unique way. Swami Radhananda channeled Light and connected us in the Light she offered. Thank you.

On the Wings of Love

You gave constantly—no time to waste! You continued Swami Radha’s work of waking us up. There were sweet times, intensely challenging times—and through it all I felt your love, your compassion, your integrity and your continual encouragement to keep going, keep taking the next step. In the end, just like Swami Radha, you brought us close in caring for you. And in that intimate place you taught me to be present, my mind only on you, being wrapped in a greater love. Om Swami Radhananda, thank you for being my friend, my guide, my companion on this path of light.

Tribute to Sw. Radhananda

I have known Swami Radhananda throughout the years following the passing of Swami Radha. In class she would always ask , after an assignment: “What have you learned?” It always took me by surprise because I wasn’t thinking in those terms. What did I learn??? The gift for me was clear and ever since, after some outstanding happening in my own life, I ask: What have I learned? Thank you for your wisdom and for carrying the Light to everyone, everywhere. Redirection Upward

In my early 20’s, when the breakdown of my self-image was at its most unbearable, I knocked on the door to Many Mansions and stated, “I feel like you don’t like me and you don’t want me here.” A completely calm and welcoming Swami Radhananda replied, “why do you think that?” “Because of the way I treat women.” “How do you treat women?” I shamefully rhymed off a list of the deplorable realizations I’d had about myself, the ones I thought made me the most hated person at the ashram. She responded, “and how would you like to treat women?” I gave another list, of my ideals. She said, “would you like to write a paper about that and give it to me and I can support you with your ideals?” “I’d love that, thank you!” I felt so uplifted, loved, supported. On my way out the door, because it was my first time in the mysterious Many Mansions alone with Radhananda, I asked, “what do you do in here all day?” She shrugged and smiled and said, “this.”

So Much Gratitude

Swami Radhananda was a remarkable teacher to me. Whenever I spoke to her she heard me and supported me. With her no longer here in body I can turn to her books and I smile, as I see how much of what she wrote I have underlined. Thank you Swami Radhananda.

Gratitude

I know Swami Radhananda through her writing and videos. and by how at home and nurtured I feel when I am at the ashram. I am uplifted, comforted and inspired by her words. I so appreciate her clarity, her invitation to me to think deeply and to continue to refine my values and goals and to act in a way that is in harmony with them. I feel much gratitude for her leadership and her inspiration and for those who continue her work.

With Love and Gratitude

In my first YDC, year 2000, Swami Radhananda asked, as we approached the Celestial Wishing Tree, what is our wish? I said, “I want my voice to be released and I want it to be heard”. This has been my journey with her ever since. I have come to know and be myself, to acknowledge and own my inner strength. A part of me dearly misses her physical presence, but another part senses her invisible presence and I know I have the wherewithal to carry on.

In gratitude and love

I have not met Swami Radhananda in person, but feel like I know her – her heart, her presence, her strength – through her books, videos and spirit. On January 28th at the time of her transition, Swami Radhananda invited me along to support her journey through a transcendental vision. That evening, I literally saw the entire universe through her eyes, her beautiful soul. Now I know only joy and gratitude that, on a tiny world in the vastness, for a few moments in the immensity of time, we were one.

“If we know anything about a Path at all, if we know there might be a way to live in this world with an open heart and peace of mind, it’s only because of the Great Beings that have gone before us on this Path. Out of their love, out of their kindness, they’ve left some footprints for us to follow.” (Krishna Das, Closing Prayer)

Swami Radhananda is a Great Being. Thank you for the Path.
